A currency that trades in markets outside of its domestic borders. "Xeno" is a pfix meaning foreign or strange.

When currency is deposited by national governments or corporations in banks outside their home market, it is sometimes referred to as a "eurocurrency" (this applies to any currency and to banks in any country).
